SDG 4: Quality Education
We believe everyone deserves a good education! We provide students with internships in the social and education sectors. A White Cloud Internship offers students intensive professional supervision individually and in groups enhancing the educational experience from the practical work experience. Moreover, White Cloud Internships has global partnerships with universities, including universities in Auckland, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Germany. This increases the quality of education as internship programs offer students the chance to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, fostering skills development. Besides that, partnerships with universities enable the exchange of knowledge and resources between academic institutions and organisations. This could increase the relevance and quality of education.
SDG 5: Gender equality
At White Cloud, everyone is of equal importance! We pick people based on their skills, not their gender. All students, regardless of gender, get equal chances to lead and succeed. Within White Cloud women in senior leadership roles are the majority, with career-pathing and professional developed based upon equal opportunities.
SDG 8: Decent work & economic growth
We’re here to support students in finding great placements and providing host organisations with a supplemental staffing resource that can help them achieve their goal. The sectors in which we operate are limited by insufficient government funding. Our internships offer interns meaningful, flexible, and innovative work experiences which leads to unique and enjoyable work practices. This not only provides professional and personal satisfaction, but it also contributes to a stronger economy as it also encourages the formalisation and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises. This is because our interns bring fresh perspectives and knowledge which may lead to new ideas and practices that enhance productivity. Furthermore, it could improve the quality of the service provided, which can contribute to growth.
SDG 10: Reduced inequalities
We believe in fairness for everyone! White Cloud specializes in the disability sector, and we enjoy experiencing positive outcomes achieved for people with disabilities because of interns’ contributions. We help reduce inequalities and promote inclusive societies. One of our team members is on the Board of Autism New Zealand, which provides services and support, education, and information on autism for autistic people, their families and those professionals who support them. Another is a former Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Disability Support Network.
SDG 13: Climate action
We care about our planet! White Cloud helps students reduce carbon footprint and contributes to climate action by doing conservation work on Motuihe Island. Together with students, we perform activities such as tree planting, tree nursery work and essential weeding and track maintenance. Already excited? Click here to read more about our contributions. Furthermore, White Cloud operates in a paperless environment, and we hold regular virtual meetings to avoid using public and private transport to cut carbon emissions.
SDG 15: Life on Land
We want to protect New Zealand’s beautiful nature! Our activities on Motuihe Island contribute to the conservation and restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity, which is essential for promoting sustainable land use and conserving natural resources.
