Waikowhai Intermediate is a school for year 7 and 8 students (usually aged between 11-14). Waikowhai Intermediate emphasise all students’ rights to ‘be themselves’ and be respected by others in the school. Waikowhai desire that students enjoy school, that school is a place of friendship, fun, hard work and new experiences.

As an intern at Waikowhai Intermediate you are offered the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to optimise learning and wellbeing for their students.

You will for example, be involved in supporting and developing positive classroom dynamics and identifying, implementing and evaluating new initiatives and differentiating tasks and activities to accommodate children’s individual strengths and needs to reach their full potential.

You may be involved in providing support for individual students with specific learning needs. You may be working on a project that suits your educational experience while making a positive difference for students at Waikowhai Intermediate.
